The Concentration of Value
Condition-list length and the computed value of serious-illness cover in Ireland
The five domestic offices market serious-illness lists of 70 to 112 conditions. Valued on the MWP-2026-05 engine, three illness families — invasive cancer, heart attack and stroke — carry 97.1 to 98.1 per cent of every policy's computed head, and no admissible re-ranking of the wordings takes that share below 89.9 per cent. The remaining headings are bounded and in large part contractually capped: the length of the list is a poor guide to the value of the cover.
